The Humanities Seminars Program at the University of Arizona brings extraordinary courses to nearly 2,000 committed lifelong learners annually. Offering classes year-round both in-person at the Rubel Room on the UA campus and online, utilizing our state-of-the-art technology from the Rubel Room, enables adult learners to continue to explore their hunger for knowledge from anywhere in the world.
Our students can study art, literature, science, drama, music, philosophy, history, religion, film, poetry and many other subjects under the direction of UA tenured and regent professors. Shakespeare, Zola, Samuel Beckett, Hemingway, WWI, Pueblos of the Southwest, Post-Modern art, the cello, Dante, Beethoven, Leonardo da Vinci, issues in astronomy, water policy in the Southwest, Chinese Buddhism—over 30 years of classes on hundreds of topics. Our program continues to inspire and reward students of any age, showing them that adult learning is possible and exciting.
Humanities Seminar Operations Fund
The HSP Development Council has made a generous challenge gift to support strategic upgrades to the Rubel Room’s classroom technology to strengthen the hybrid experience and bring in-person and online students closer together. Gifts made to the Humanities Seminars Operations Fund during Giving Day will support this goal and will be matched up to $2,500, increasing the impact of your donation. Help us enhance the student experience and provide adult learners with more direct access to the world-class faculty at the University of Arizona!
